Event Details: Categories, Ages, Rules, Format and more

The PKL Qualifier Event is for any Amateur to come try their skill at this great opener! No DUPR or other rating is necessary to sign up and come play!  Top winners in each category will qualify for the next event in the series!

 

We have removed all barriers to entry into this available worldwide qualifying event.  Regardless of skill, age, and passion for pickleball, all are welcome.

 

ALL EVENTS:

 

Each PKL Pathway Series Event will be structured in this way:

 

• Pool Play will be established.  Teams with the highest points in their pool will move to the next round. 

• Pool Play will determine the 8 teams who will enter the Finals Day; the number of registrations in each category will determine the length of the Pool play, whether one, two or three days as does the number of available courts.

 

The Finals will be played in the following way:

 

• Quarter Finals: Best of 3; winners move to Semi Finals

• Semi Finals: Best of 3; winners move to Finals

• Finals: Best of 3

 

Most PKL Pathway Series events will be held on Saturday's and Sunday's, but depending on the number of registrations and the number of available courts, play could begin as early Thursday or Friday.  The Tournament Operator will initiate contact with registrants as to start dates/times and court information.

CATEGORIES:

 

The PKL Pathway Series events will hold the following categories of play:

     Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles

RATINGS:

 

Ratings are not required to register for this event, the PKL Qualifier Event.

PRIZES:

 

Top two winners in each category will receive a cash prize and merchandise and will be qualified to compete in the Championship Events in November.   Event details will be determined at a later date and will be communicated at that time.

In additional to these prizes, top finishers may be eligible to join an Ultimate Pickleball League (UPL) Semi-Pro team or if no such team exists in the Qualifying City event, then a UPL Team ownership slot will be offered at a $5,000 discount.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR AN EVENT:

 

Each player must become a Club Member at PKL.club and then will be able to register for any event/tournament they choose.  Each player may register for up to 3 categories in a given event/tournament.  Discounts are available.

 

   For example:  a woman may register for Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

 

RULES:
 

PKL Pathways Series Events will be ruled by the Global Pickleball Federation rules.
